Panorama Canada; 1

The Panorama Heli Skiing view from our back porch.

Driving to Canada, long stretch to the border

The Dalles, a lot more scenic in the wintertime

The LADIES

Thanksgiving Dinner

Steez Tape, 1.4 Farrenheit this day, tape prevented frostbite on our cheeks

We pulled into Panorama at about 11 on Tuesday. After 17 hours of driving in a mexi packed van of 13 to 19 year olds- we were all pissed off and tired, Orange Fanta had been spilled in race boots, our DJ had no skills in song choice which was a mix of the worst live ACDC and Milkshake, but inbetween the stress and annoyance we made it through and seemed to still have a good time. Our first day on the hill there was a high of 1.5F, coach put us straight into GS gates on the lower half of the world cup training run. Even though it was everyones first day on GS skis we all slayed the dragon. All the snow here is man made, making it perfect for ski racing. More pictures are to come! Stoked to be up here for the next week, thanks mom and dad :). Peace frans!

Two feet of fresh, grab yo pow pow straps!!

Woke up this morning and it was freezing, walked upstairs wrapped up in blankets, looked out the window and was automaticaly stoked off of the two feet of fresh snow on the deck. I threw on my boots and started shoveling a path so I could get off the deck and walk down to the Academy for my ride to some soul skiing, after making the path I realized the road wasn't plowed and I had to just make my own path (good thing I had my snow boots). Timberline did not open till later so the team was told to go do school all morning then hustle up to the mountain to go hit some freshies on the vertical of what we had, which wasn't much but it was fun to hit powder on the third day of skiing for the season. After skiing for three hours the team headed down the mountain back to the academy for 45 minutes of circuit training.. my favorite thing to do right after a ski session haha. It was a great day but now I'm exausted and ready for sleep, had my tea, had some dinner with the brother, I'm ready for a guitar sesh then hittin the sack. I can say that Meadows will deffinately be fun this weekend for a run or two before the mass of Portlanders track everything out for opening day, but hell it'll prolly still be fun after that because we'll be skiing. Viva la Nina!

Death Stairs

Found a new stair set today! Kinda sketchy on my tiny bike, it was too wet to try it today, the wood had had rain on it for a couple of weeks and there was no grip at all and I didn't feel like eating it in the creek bed at the bottom haha. It was a super fun day! Lots of mud, only made it that much better :) .

Last Day for Oregon "Sunshine"

This was the last day to bike in clear weather. I went on a 30 mile bike ride up and over the hill into Newberg and along the river into Wilsonville. Once I got done with the 12 mile climb the view of the metro area was so sick! The trees were turning their crazy colors and you could see Hood, Hellens, and Jefferson perfectly and each mountain was doused with snow. It was a great way to end the enjoyable biking season and made me pretty stoked to be skiing some in some real snow depth this winter.

This was the last day to bike in clear weather. I went on a 30 mile bike ride over the hill into Newberg and along the river into Wilsonville. Once I got to the top of the 12 mile climb the view of the metro area was so sick. I could see Hellens, Hood, and Jefferson all pretty clearly and each mountain was completely white just covered in snow and all the trees below were turnin their crazy colors. The pano I did up is pretty bad but I didn't feel like spending an hour on making it look nice. It was deffinately worth the ride that day and was one of my favorites.
